Everything you need to know about Deb Balls
Debutant balls have been a tradition that have been going on for over a century. This event allows girls in year 10, 11 and 12 to have a ‘coming out’ party where they are introduced to society with a show of societal etiquette and traditional dance routines.
Dress Code:
With the attire for the debutants there are a few simple rules that they must follow. The chosen dress must be white and have a full skirt and with our simplicity 2022 collection here at GWM we have created a line of dresses that have an a-line silhouette and different skirt fullnesses depending on the comfort of the debutant her self.
Ideally the dress must be simple, that means solid fabrics with very few beading and very soft and intricate lace patterns. Some debutant committees prefer to have more traditional designs and silhouettes. That is why we have incorporated a vast variety of design options for our wide and unique debutants. we have a number of solid gowns from satin, tulle and organza. for the debutants that want a gown with lace detailing we have a number of gown that have lace bodice and solid skirt or we have a sold lace gown. we have tried to incorporate traditional and modern aspects to ensure every young woman can find a dress that makes them feel like a true debutant.
With accessories a debutant is required to wear white elbow satin gloves to match their white gowns. With shoes the debutants are advised to wear white satin heels, the hight of the heel is dependant on the hight of the debutant and the length of their dress.
